Brisbane Lord Mayor quits 2032 Olympic Games forum
Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has quit from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games delivery forum, claiming the Palaszczuk government has “completely lost its way”.
He also withdrew his support for the $2.7 billion revamp of the Gabba.
It comes after Mr Schrinner claimed he was blindsided by the state government’s decision to stump only a third of the rebuilding cost.
“Friday’s attempt to extort Brisbane ratepayers for a $137 million temporary stadium demonstrates Labor isn’t interested in teamwork,” Mr Schrinner said in a social media post.
“I will no longer support the Labor Government’s current Gabba plan and I will never be bullied out of fighting for Brisbane residents.”

“Labor needs Green preferences to get elected; the Greens need Labor preferences to get elected.
“They will do deals, and the Lord Mayoral candidate from Labor, Tracey Price, has already talked ab...
